Thinking of Something Sweet, try making Homemade Gulab Jamuns. Full Recipe in Article.

Sometimes there are those days when we have those sweet cravings, yeah even though when we're on a diet.

The lockdown has got us locked in and stuck up with little to no access to our favourite foods, but that doesn't mean we're gonna go without it. We can always try something new at home. Today we decided to try our hands at the famous Gulab Jamun and we're listing down the recipe and method so you can try your hand at it as well. Read on.

Here what you'll need

  • 200gms Khoya

  • 40 gms Chenna (curds)

  • 40 gms Maida

  • 10 gms Pistas

  • 0.5 gms Saffron

  • 5 gms Green Cardamom

  • 400 ml Ghee

  • 400 gms Grain Sugar

  • 160 ml Water

Method.

1. Mix Khoya, Chenna, Maida and knead it well. Once done keep it aside.

2. Make Stuffing of chopped Pistas, Saffron and Cardamom powder. Divide in 8 different portions. (for 4 Servings)

3. Divide the Khoya mixture in 8 equal sized roundels with the stuffing.

4. Make Sugar Syrup with Water.

5. Heat Ghee on a slow flame and add the Roundels to the hot ghee and deep fry till golden brown, stirring continuously.

6. Drain on absorbent paper(you can use tissue) and transfer to the sugar syrup and steep till service.

7. Serve 2 pieces per portion seeped i the sugar syrup along in a bowl.


Note

You can certainly make more portions, it doesn't have to be 4, but make sure you add the ingredients accordingly.

Amount of sugar can be according to your taste or your diet(keep the calories in mind).
